Defra Quick Wins

Defra's 'Buy Sustainable - Quick Wins' provide a set of standards to be applied when selecting products such as IT equipment, white goods, paper, etc. There is a minimum, mandatory level, plus two further levels - Best Practice and Class Leader. These are more stretching than the mandatory minimum and are voluntary for those procurers that wish to purchase products offering a higher degree of environmental performance. 

There is no formal evaluation or accreditation process, manufacturers simply declare their level of compliance with the appropriate set of standards, based on the list of criteria published by Defra. Procurement Solutions has developed an accreditation programme that draws on the Defra Quick Wins standards - Products that meet the minimum mandatory standard are awarded "Green Tick" status and Products that meet the Best Practice or Class Leader standard are awarded "Green Tick Plus".
